Public Minutes of Bicon Continuity Limited General Meeting, 2024-11-12
Election of a chair
Anna S was elected to chair the meeting.
Ian J was appointed minute-taker.
Quorum/Attendance
There were 10 members in attendance, with 1 apology.
Quorum is 1/4 of the Members and there can be no more than 25 Members so quorum met.
Election of Directors/Trustees
Two directors are standing down as per the articles, and standing for re-election. Both were very much welcomed:
- Asha Wolfe-Robinson. Re-elected.
- Anna Sharman: Re-elected.
Finance
The treasury/accounts volunteer presented our accounts.
Notable points:
BiCon 2023 money: £8,800 was given as an advance, the team returned some money in the next financial year, so £8,000 is not the deficit for 2023. £1,519.55 was returned by the 2023 team in the February 2024. We do not yet have the final accounts for BiCon 2023 from the 2023 team.
"Ringfenced for Extras" is a donation from Members, for "things that would be fun and not normally done". Those Members have confirmed at this meeting that if appropriate, that money could be used for general funds.
The money that is "Ringfenced for anti-racism" was discussed and drawn to the Directors' attention.
We are incredibly grateful to our volunteer for continuing to do the accounts.
We are in the process of starting a new bank account with CAF because our experience with HSBC has been exceedingly difficult.
Volunteers
The Directors would like very much for more volunteers to come forward to help with future BiCons and with BiCon Continuity.
Offers of help are best sent by emailing info@biconcontinuity.org.uk
Interested people would also be very welcome at the session at BiCon 2024.
BiCon 2024
Ian W, organiser of 2024, gave a report. There is going to be a BiCon, non-residential. Currently 50 registrations. BiCon Continuity Ltd has advanced £2,000, takings so far have been £1,600. Some expenses still to come.
Thanks to Ian W for taking this on. Well done.
Ian W would like a volunteer to run 2024's BiCon Decides, as an online event.
BiCon 2025
We had a team who were interested, but they have pulled out.
Currently there is no prospective 2025 bid. We would like volunteers to come forward.
Ian W would like to report that running a non-residential BiCon has been really surprisingly much easier.
We recommend that Ian W arranges to get feedback from 2024 attendees and non-attendees, as far as possible, and publishes/summarises it.
We had a general discussion about future BiCons, particularly 2025 and 2026, and look forward to further discussions at the forthcoming BiCon.

Minutes of last meeting
There were a couple of amendments to the minutes from the 2023 AGM:
- Item 7, we now think Asha first became director before Anna.
- Asha's surname is Wolfe-Robinson.
The minutes were approved with those minor corrections
ILGA
Reported: We are still a member.
The Directors are not able to do as much as they would like with this membership. If people in the wider Bi community are interested in being more involved, that would be very welcome.
Directors' update
We have been meeting regularly, monthly. We have been gradually improving our organisation.
We tried to enable a 2025 bid, but ultimately that wasn't able to go forward.
(Note: this version of the minutes is for publication on the BiCon Continuity Limited website. As agreed at the AGM itself, it omits people's names, other than the names of the Directors, in line with the GDPR.)
